Meet Ms. Chelle, Founder / instructor
About Your Instructor
Ms. Chelle is the founder and owner of Andrew Bell Performing Arts (ABPA Dance), where she writes and produces powerful original theatrical works that spotlight real-life experiences impacting women and underprivileged youth. A visionary storyteller, she transforms movement into meaningful narratives that inspire, educate, and uplift.
She is also an accomplished author, co-writing The Magic Chest into Turoc—adapted from one of her original stage productions—with her husband, master sculptor C. A. Hartway. The book is available on Amazon and extends her creative mission beyond the stage.
With over 20 years of experience teaching dance to youth and the young at heart, Ms. Chelle is best known for her acclaimed HERstory: Art in Motion series, directed by her son Christopher A. Hartway Jr., a Morehouse College graduate. Her work seamlessly blends art, culture, and community impact.
A proud mother of three sons—Christopher, Michael, and Jordan—all Columbus natives and performing artists, Ms. Chelle continues to build a legacy rooted in creativity, empowerment, inspiration, and family.
